Reclaimed 31″ Arched Door with Slag Glass from Windsor, Lookout Mountain

Description A charming antique arched door with a half-view window of divided slag glass panels, salvaged from the historic “Windsor” home—also known as the Castle Above the Clouds—perched atop Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Built in the 1930s by George and Elizabeth Scholze, the residence reflects the couple’s refined taste and attention to detail. George Scholze, second-generation owner of the prominent Scholze Tannery in Chattanooga, helped earn the city its nickname, “Saddle Capital of the World.” This door is in very good antique condition, and has the expected chips, scratches, and dings typical of an old door; the glass is also in good condition with no breaks or cracks (as pictured.)
