Antique 33″ Arched & Curved Door from Windsor, Lookout Mountain

Description A whimsical antique arched and curved door, salvaged from the historic “Windsor” home—also known as the Castle Above the Clouds—perched atop Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Built in the 1930s by George and Elizabeth Scholze, the residence reflects the couple’s refined taste and attention to detail. George Scholze, second-generation owner of the prominent Scholze Tannery in Chattanooga, helped earn the city its nickname, “Saddle Capital of the World.” Originally used in a tower, this door is curved/bowed, and features fabulous carved detailing on one side. This door is in very good antique condition, and has the expected chips, scratches, and dings typical of an old door (as pictured.) The door measures 33-7/8″ wide, 80″ tall, and 1-7/8″ thick.
