A fine mid 19th century giltwood pedestal in the Baroque style, with a circular green marble insert over a reeded edge and with three massive cabriole supports with scrolled tops, harebells to the upper sections over acanthus leaves below and with a scrolled foot, with richly carved scrolling leaves between each support, and with an underhanging central feature carved with leaves and a pineapple terminal. Italian, circa 1840. Condition: Overall very good, the pedestal is solid and robust with no structural issues. The gilding has wear that is commensurate with the age of the piece.
