Description A very handsome well proportioned small Georgian mahogany chest of four drawers. The well figured top has boxwood strung inlay and corners and crossbanded with a darker mahogany for visual impact. The brushing slide has been used as a writing surface with original pulls and charming old ink blots. The four oak lined long drawers are edged with cock beading and run smoothly. The drawer fronts are also counter veneered on the reverse, a sign of quality to keep the fronts rigid. Having the original oval patinated handles, locks, feet and back. This useful chest is a lovely mellow colour and been well looked after. The rails between the drawers are solid so cannot be damaged by veneers coming adrift. Condition is very good and commensurate with age use and images. We can help arrange transport.
