It serves as a central processor that guides the system, providing computational power, intelligence, and decision-making capabilities. Furthermore, it coordinates control distribution modules (DCMs), including the NXT™ DCM and the Connect 50™ DCM from EmpirBus. Additionally, various external device connection options are available. The upgraded MCU v.2 features two auxiliary CAN inputs and two RS485 inputs, which are galvanically isolated and can be configured for additional parallel connection with third-party products. The MCU device communicates with other system components via the NMEA 2000® network. Configuration files for the installation are stored in the MCU, so even if a DC module experiences an issue, it can be easily replaced and programmed from the MCU unit.
