Description The Garmin® Connect 50 DCM is a smaller version of the NXT™ DCM, designed for smaller or less complex installations of the EmpirBus™ digital switching system. The Garmin® Connect 50 unit incorporates the durability and efficiency of the NXT™ DCM device with an excellent cost-per-channel ratio, without sacrificing significant usability. The Garmin® Connect 50 can operate with other DCMs or control units for larger installations. The outputs are equipped with high-precision current feedback for real-time information on consumption per channel. A new NMEA 2000® network connection design provides a galvanically isolated connection – without the need for power. Network consumption is zero for the Garmin® Connect 50 unit. The Garmin® Connect 50 DCM features 11 input channels and 20 output channels. Optionally, it can be equipped with additional galvanically isolated CAN ports and serial connection. Reverse polarity protection on 4 channels is provided as standard for controlling windows and other functions, as well as the ability to synchronize wipers. For applications requiring greater reverse polarity control, the Connect HPR™ distribution unit is needed, offering 10 channels (18 A) that can control functions such as trim, engine hatch, pumps, and more.
