A mid 19th century French mantel clock in a black slate case, the plain rectangular top over a square body with canted sides and with a hinged gilt brass bezel over a 5” white enamel dial with Roman numerals in black with outer minute markers, blued steel Breguet hands, and on a plinth base, the clock with an eight day bell striking movement signed S Marti accessed via a hinged circular rear door with smoked glass. French, circa 1870. Supplied with a winding key. Condition: Excellent, the clock is in very good condition with no damage to either the case or the dial, the case is clean and free from chips, the dial has no damage and the numerals are clear, the movement has been recently serviced and the clock is in excellent working condition with a nice clear strike.
